SlumberPod Bundle Review: Travel Sleep Made Easier for Babies and Toddlers
I wanted to share an honest review of the SlumberPod bundle after using it for the first time during our December trip to Jamaica. I have always traveled with a SlumberPod and will continue to stand by it as one of my top baby travel essentials. This time, I decided to try their SlumberCalm travel sound machine instead of our usual Hatch Travel to see how it compared.
Since I already trust and love the SlumberPod for sleep while traveling with a baby, adding the sound machine felt like a natural next step.
Pros of the SlumberCalm Travel Sound Machine
Strong sound level for travel sleep
One of the biggest issues I find with many travel sound machines is that they are often too quiet. Hotel hallways, music, air systems, and unfamiliar noises can easily disrupt baby sleep. The SlumberCalm reached a solid noise level and did an excellent job blocking out background sounds. It is easily one of the best travel sound machines for babies I have used.
Multiple sound options for different sleep preferences
The SlumberCalm travel sound machine includes ten sound options, including white noise, a calming shhh mode, nature sounds, and lullabies. Many families do not rely on white noise alone and instead prefer brown noise, waterfall sounds, or shushing. Having multiple sound choices makes this a great option for both babies and toddlers.
Built in night light for toddlers
The included night light gives off a soft yellow white glow. This can be very comforting for toddlers who need a night light inside the SlumberPod to feel safe in an unfamiliar sleep space.
Easy to clip and travel friendly
The ability to clip the sound machine directly onto the SlumberPod is a huge plus, especially when space is limited in hotels or vacation rentals. It can also clip onto a car seat or stroller, making it convenient for naps on the go.
Cons of the SlumberCalm Sound Machine
There were not many drawbacks, but one thing worth mentioning is the color of the night light. While it is soft, it is not red or orange, which are typically considered the least stimulating colors for sleep. Some toddlers prefer sunset toned lighting, and for them this light may feel slightly too stimulating.
Is the SlumberPod Bundle Worth It?
Overall, this bundle is absolutely worth the investment. I use our SlumberPod anytime we travel, visit our cabin, or stay somewhere outside of our normal routine. Adding a compact, clip on travel sound machine that works seamlessly with it is a huge bonus.
If you are looking for a reliable solution for baby sleep while traveling, I would highly recommend adding the SlumberCalm travel sound machine to your SlumberPod order.
Important Note on Airflow and Safe Sleep
That said, I have always used a fan with our SlumberPod and will continue to do so. Some studies suggest that using a fan may reduce the risk of SIDS by up to 70 percent. Whether we are at home or travelling, I always make sure there is proper airflow through the sleep space.
Lots of love,
Shay
