Product Review: Momcozy MaxSupport Nursing Pillow - The Ultimate Blend of Comfort and Support

When I was newly pregnant with my first child, I felt determined to breastfeed exclusively. When my son was born, we struggled with latching issues and it felt especially frustrating for me since it seemed like breastfeeding should be so simple. Breastfeeding was natural and it should be straightforward, but I really struggled with the pain of it. I went to our city’s free breastfeeding clinic, I hired a lactation specialist to come to our home, and finally, I got my son’s tongue tie revised. After 6 weeks of trying to improve his latch and tensing my way through the process, things got miraculously better. There was no longer pain when he fed, his latch was good, and I felt like we were well on our way to breastfeeding success. However, one thing I never mastered was good positioning. I was either straining my arm or my back to feed properly & I could really feel the long-term impact it was having on my body.

Three babies later who all breastfed exclusively, I spent a lot of time sitting down on a couch or chair with a pillow under my arm to support my baby’s little head while they fed. Over the years, I had tried a few breastfeeding techniques and pillows to help support my back while feeding, but I hadn’t ever settled on a specific nursing pillow or brand. I had gotten a second hand nursing pillow that had a strap around the back of it to attach it to my waist - this was especially helpful when I had to move my own body on the couch and I didn’t want the nursing pillow to fall off.

What I wish I’d had during the thick of my breastfeeding years was the Momcozy MaxSupport Nursing Pillow. Momcozy recently sent me this pillow to review as part of our affiliate partnership, and as I opened the package, a wave of memories from my nursing journey came flooding back — those quiet, late-night feeds in a dim nursery, watching my babies drift off to sleep, memorizing their peaceful faces.

The MaxSupport Nursing Pillow is luxurious. I sat on the couch with the pillow, adjusted the strap to fit around my back, and sat back - exactly how I did while actually nursing my babies. Here are a few of my favourite features of the Momcozy MaxSupport Nursing Pillow:

  • The pillow is made with upgraded 45D memory foam — firm yet comfortable, it contours to your body while providing a stable surface for the baby to feed on. Unlike some memory foam that sinks too much, this foam holds its shape without compromising comfort or safety.

  • Compared to their previous nursing pillow, this one is now 28% wider to allow for more room for your arms to move around. This makes it so that your arms shouldn’t go numb while feeding your baby as it also puts less pressure on your arms.

  • I especially like that there is a “security fence” on the back of the pillow, keeping your baby safely on their back while you adjust your breast to feed. It is also nice to have some reassurance that your baby won’t roll over while you’re switching sides.

  • I love that the pillow is adjustable to accommodate taller and smaller moms. With the straps at the back, you can basically choose where on your waist you want to position the MaxSupport Nursing Pillow and it’s so convenient and easy to adjust. Not only does the positioning help mom, but it also helps maintain a good latch for your baby and it supports your back while feeding. I so wish I would have had a nursing pillow to help support my back while I was breastfeeding my children. Along with adjustable straps, there is a pillow support at the back to help support your own back while feeding. I have had baby carriers with the back support and you can’t underestimate how useful it is!

It’s completely washable, and has great pockets. When my babies were newborns, I didn’t want anything that wasn’t washable. I needed things to be able to go into the washing machine since I didn’t have the time (or energy!) to do spot-cleaning or handwashing anything. The cover for the MaxSupport Nursing pillow zips off for an easy clean in the washing machine. This nursing pillow also has a great pocket attached to it and I know I would have put nipple butter and leak-proof nipple pads in. I always loved having those 2 things handy in a diaper caddy nearby, but if I had used the MaxSupport Nursing Pillow instead, I would have had those 2 things permanently in the pocket.

It’s worth mentioning that Momcozy designed this pillow not just for comfort, but to meet updated 2024 federal safety standards. It complies with the CPSC’s latest regulations for firmness, incline, and structural safety — something many older or cheaper nursing pillows on the market may not guarantee.

The Momcozy MaxSupport Nursing Pillow is a must-have for any parent planning to breastfeed. With thoughtful design, certified-safe materials, and unparalleled support, it helps protect your body while creating a safe, cozy space for your baby.

If I have one regret about my breastfeeding journey, it’s that I didn’t prioritize my own physical support sooner. This nursing pillow is an investment in both your comfort and your baby’s well-being — and in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth it.
